Halloween Fun

Happy Halloween from Magnolia Lawn to you! Here’s some Fun Facts and Tips to hopefully help you enjoy your spooky day even more!

Trick or Treating has evolved from a tradition called “souling”. It used to be customary for poor children to go door-to-door begging for food and money during the Celtic festival of Samhain.  In exchange for their generosity, children would offer to pray for the souls of their recently lost loved ones, hence how this activity got the name “souling.” That is very interesting and something I myself did not know.

The Michael Myers mask from Halloween is the face of a well known celebrity. The iconic costume from this 1978 film is nothing short of terrifying, but it turns out there is also something very amusing about it. The film’s production designer Tommy Lee Wallace found a mask of William Shatner as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, and was completely inspired. It was then spray painted white to get the look we all know today.

Whether you’re trick or treating, or handing out candy to littles make sure you have fun and be safe out there tonight! Please include everyone of all ages in on it too. I don’t think there should be an age limit on the fun to be had!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
